I went in to paint some panels today. I set everything up and also warmed the paint. The spray area was enclosed with static cling film for masking cars. It seemed to do a good job with the spoiler.
Mounting the bonnet on the stand took some working out and I had to make up some brackets. Then I scratched the previously sprayed back of it with the stand. Anyway, I cleaned everything up and checked the spray pattern, which looked fine. Second pass with the gun and it started to flutter. Couldn't see anything obviously wrong so decided to just lay some paint and pop a wet coat on afterwards.
I left it to flash while I mixed up some more paint and also opened the big doors to clear the mist. Warmed the paint and went back to it. The plastic sheeting had attached itself to all three panels, from both sides, I couldn't believe my eyes. In the end, rather than waste the mixed paint, I decided that I would just get some more on there and see what can be done once it has all gone off.
So a waste of a day and half a litre of paint etc.
