Hi
Im posting on behalf of a friend who's not on the internet. He has a old 1979 weldrite 130 thats been faultless until a few days ago.
His welder stopped working, I popped over for a quik look but ive never tried fixing a welder before so was a little unsure where to start. The problem is we do not have any current at the tip, I put a multimeter on the end and nothing, I earthed it at the start of the earth clamp wire inside the welder.
Nothing looks loose, the pcb doesnt have any burn marks or fuses out. Is it a 240v contactor these things use to create a circuit? If so it doesnt move on its own. Would it be operated from a relay triggered from the torch button?
If anyone knows anything about this model any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers
