Hi,
I am new to the forum and I wish to thank you for accepting me ....
I want to open a welding workshop and our plan is to make a iron forged furniture and other things like ,gates ,railings etc...
I am not sure what to do ,should we start as a sole trader or LTD?
I would work with my father and we would register as a partnership with hmrc.
If I register as a sole trader ,can I also rent a shop on different location and employ a salesman? Because
our main goal is to make a metal furniture all kinds you could emagine.I prepared a lot of ideas of what to do so I have a very good strategy.
We do not plan to employ other welders, but maybe after few months we would sell our metal furniture in our showroom and employ a salesman.
My father have very big experience in all kind of welding and production,I finished the nvq course welding and fabrication too.I am also experienced but not like him.
Some things are not clear to me/us.
So I would ask you people few questions so if you could please help us.
1.What is better for us LTD or sole trade?(we plan to work together not planing to take other welders, but would like to have our showroom and employ a salesman)
2.Can we work for other firms/companies for example if they hire us for few days?
3.How to attract new customer what is the best advertisement from your experience?I know it s a word of mouth. But we are new to this city and don t know nobody. So any suggestion would be appreciated, maybe flyers, news papers?
4.How long does it take from your experience to start getting jobs and what would you target to get first jobs/any tips ideas?
5.Is there anything that we should be aware of?How much cost to have an accountant to do our paper work for us?
We can do arc,mig,tig,etc...
6.Any suggestion about workshop name ?like welding services or any ideas please...
Thank you in advance
