I cannot get my Fronius 2200 Transteel to feed .023 wire. I get birdnesting between the back of the clamping piece and the mouth of the liner every time at the welder end. I wonder if I cut my liner too short? Any guidance on how to cut the liner to the correct length and how to deburr would be appreciated. I assume Transteel wants the liner long enough that it butts up against the back of the clamping piece on the welder end and butts up against the back of welding tip on the torch end. Should there be any gap at all at either end. Thanks.
first things first. dload the ts2200 manual and mtg320 gun manual. they show how everything is suppose to be set up.
second thing. ive had a ts2200 for several years and its a fantastic machine when its set up properly. but its different than other machines so most people dont set it up correct , then they blame the machine.
ive never once had a bird nest in mine. but i took the time to read the manual and buy the proper bits that i needed.
.023/.030 has only a single roller for hard wire only
.035/.040/.045 has single roller for hard wire and double gear rollers for aluminum and cored wires like fluxcore and metal core.
also the proper back tip must be used. everything is color coded.
seems like i used .045 liner for every size of steel wire. aluminum wire has its own plastic liner that should be used.. also the proper contact tip. aluminum has its own contact tips also.
and lastly the liner needs to be cut at proper length. refer to the manual.
once you understand how the ts2200 operates ,it will be a joy to use
