Hi,
I have to agree with Simondrains...
you'll probably get more exposure to EMI, etc, using a mobile phone, your TV or your microwave oven...especially if the door seals on the microwave are old and haven't been checked for a year or two.
I'd not worry about it but then I'm not a woman and I can sympathise with your worries.

		 as an add on to my previous comments. EMF's are all around us , all the time. computers, mobiles, WIFI, microwaves, old "tube" type tv, and of course any electric wire with electricity going through it. Now your lecturer really is trying to scare you!!:
