Thought I had mastered laying weld on thin (0.8mm) mild steel until I tried to lay some welds with the steel in vertical position, when it all goes wrong.
I'm using Clarke 160T using pub gas CO2 set at 10l/min, 0.6mm wire. Power position 1 MIN (lowest power setting), and wire speed 3. This gave OK result when laying welds on horizontal (flat).
Tried vertical down and it sputters (doesn't sound right). Tried lower wire speed, then increasing wire speed, but this makes it worse.
Tried vertical up, and this seems better, but still not like laying on horizontal (flat).
I think torch position may be the problem, or could it be the gas, or torch speed?
