Im sure he means above/overhead. Id be interested to hear how others deal with overhead welding, mig and tig.
Turn the bench over and weld on the flat.
Seriously, as has been said, if the weld forms globs which fall off then you're running way too hot so reduce the voltage and adjust the wire feed to suit.
Overhead is one of the most difficult positions you'll ever weld in, it won't be easy so the more you can practise, the better.
Be very careful, those 'snotters' can cause a lot of damage if they land on you.
