Hello All
I have a Murex 235 which I have done a lot of fabrication with box section etc and got on well with welder. I have bought a resto project mk1 golf and it needs a few areas welded. I thought I would practice on some thin metal about 1.00 mm and with welder on lowest setting it just blew straight through using 1.00mm wire. I looked at manual for machine and it said it ranges between 20 to 30 volts and the bottom amp setting is 40 amps. On the thin welding guide on here it says you need to use 25 amps so what I would like to know is my welder just no good for welding thin sheet? Would it make much difference using 0.8mm wire?
