Was an experimental 4-1 system for my FJR1300 but going down another road on that...had to heat and pull the downies out and wider to fit the gixer motor plus the current cut and shove to make them fit. might as well use them than look at them hanging on the wall. Thanks for reply to yourself and othersSeems a shame to do it as it looks a neat job.
Can change anytime in future but for now they are a running experiment in mechanical madnessIve done mig welds on quad exhausts with standard steel wire and gas , just as an emergency finish the weekends race quick fix ,, yep it welds , its not pretty and destroy the stainless , gods only knows how long it lasted but it was longer than the weekend ,, but for something I cared about and given the choice I wouldnt be doing it .
then if thats the case ...Can change anytime in future but for now they are a running experiment in mechanical madness
Argon Co2 mix is fine.Won't you need argon as well...
Just run 'round the lip of the upstream pipe with a ball pein hammer to open up the lip - once the pipes are together they will be fine.maybe get an exhaust pipe expander and look to make them a slip fit before welding as you have the extra length there.
