welding rotators so expensive

Why on earth are welding rotators and tables so expensive. I mean given what they are. ie: a round bit of metal connected to a spindle and a motor, or a couple of paired wheels set up in a fashion to rotate pipes etc. I see them going for thousands sometimes. what a rip!

I agree, I'm after a couple of pipe rotators and instead of buying I'm going to get some rod and bearings and cast polyurethane wheels to fit them...

They won't be powered but they'll do the job...

The rotators I used in my last job seemed pretty basic, looked like a wiper motor to drive the disc - hope it gives you an idea to play with.

mates just bought a 2ton manipulator now that was money, trouble is there one of those low no. produced products, bode's are the quality ones, theres lots of cheepy copy's knocking around...
