i know this has been asked before many times but I can’t find the thread(s)

I need some 6013 preferably 3.2 mm

I’m not a good welder and have an old TIC oil cooled, (think oxford)

I’m just confused as there seems to be so many choices and price ranges.

Don’t need top end but decent for an amateur hobbiest

Oerlicon fincords will be ideal. Will run on just about anything.

i use the esab range parm now and ive never had any problems with them so far

nice weld and also nice finish on them pings off nice as well

Orlicon are the nicest I've used. Though I recently got a carton of bohler fox as they were on special offer at a really good price and I'm really liking them.

The BOC everyday are quite a nice electrode too, slightly heavier flux coating than fincords but very easy to use, this was welded with a 2.5. BOC, you can get these over the counter at the Northampton branch of BOC

Think with screwfix and other store electrode your chancing it. Sometimes will be good and other times not. Decent 6013 from a reputable welding company are cheap enough these days, you also have that bit of security knowing what you're going to be getting.
