It's things like this that make me want to learn more about metallurgy

I'm no metallurgist. I've picked up some of the basics from been involved with welding inspection for a little while. The stuff Al and hotrodder put up is on a different league. Waaaaaay more in depth than I'll ever know.

If you need any dissimilar or other unusual electrodes I have shed loads I never use. I'd be glad to post a few out to forum members to get rid of them.

I'd be happy to help your plight if you are desperate!! I have a brace to stick back on a cast bench frame. How much do you want for say a dozen or so of 312 or similar?
