Guys
I've taught my self to MIG weld over the last 18months, still have a heck of a lot to learn however having produced numerous projects from large gates and railings to furniture I'm feeling I've reached the limits of my Clarke 135. By limits I mean the duty cycle is starting to pee me off and the last few projects have involved 10mm+ plate which calls for a lot more umph! its also started playing up with the feed randomly stuttering.
I want to learn other types of welding such as TIG which is where I'm getting myself in a pickle over what to purchase. I have a total budget of £1500, I really like the idea of a multi process machine to cover all disciplines but am wary that one machine covering many things won't necessarily be as good as two dedicated machines. Priority for me is getting something that is going to be reliable, consistent with a better duty cycle thank my Clarke .
The ESAB Rebel is currently at the top of my list, It seems to get good reviews and i can source it through a local dealer inside my budget. Any comments on the ESAB or alternate suggestions welcome, I'm thinking it through too hard now and need some help to pull the trigger on something!
thanks
