Just to try to give a little back to the forum I recived a ersb warrior helmet for a the freebies section
And Thank you @Brad93 for the helmet very generous of you to post it free
this is the helmet from the pic when posted
From looking on the net most auto darking helmet stop working as the battery fails so thought I would try to give a little info on how to go about checking out your now non working helmet
I took apart the helmet and got this out
now the hardest part of all this is to get the sealed unit open I used a wall paper blade to run down all the joints and being care full got to dig in to all the parts in the case as said this is the hard part once in you see this
the bottom left corner is the battery sorry to say this pic is after I hard replaced the old battery but you can easy see the tails of the positive and negative points on the board lots of units are near the same some have 2 batterys some one as long as you replace it with the same volt battery you can get the unit possibly work in again
As a quick test I took the old battery out and removed the leads and attached them to a standard cr2032 battery using my fingers to hold the contacts in place and put it up to the florescent light and it darkens so yes great it shows this is the battery so used the cr battery And soldered 2 cables to the battery (please this is hard to do the batterys can explode if you don't do this right please see later on in the post to see what to do replace it with a battery unit what I will do later once I have proved it's working )
this is the cr2032 battery soldered
Add a bit of heat Shrink tube and start to solder back in the battery put back together and test using a light to see if it darkens for welding
and later pics the helmet working back together this is the unit i will put in place of the cr2032 battery and the battery unit i will replace the cr20332 battery with there is plenty of space there to add a battery unit to make it easy replaceable
