welding guide for beginners

Im new to welding myself, i did some mig welding for fun a few years back but now ive purchased a sip arc welder. I have had a few goes of it but what i wanted to ask somebody to do if they have a spare half an hour is, could they write up a settings guide for welders, for eg: if using a 2 mm electrode what would the ampage be set to etc: Same for mig welders, what speed for car body, what speed and thickness of wire for say 3mm plate.

It might not work for everyones welders as you know there are different makes, but it would give us beginners some sort of guide.

The rods should state their current range. Miller has a stick welding guide that has a current table. The also have the Stick settings calculator.

Miller also has the same for MIG.

Have you had a read of the mig tutorials and Arc tutorials already written?
