welding gloves

hi does anyone know of a welding glove that is alot closer fitting than the traditionl gautlet gloves

im am new to wealding and am haveing troubel with the dexterity that these give can anyone help

Tig welding gloves are a lot thinner and tighter fitting, but maybe not as much protection from heat . Yesterday i had a similar problem holding on to a "hobby" mig torch and operating the trigger. So used a gauntlet on the one hand (to steady the torch and pick up hot stuff) and a rigger on the other to hang on to the torch.

I reckon that'll be my next attempt...

the original gaultlets are heavy so I swapped a few months ago to lighter gauntlets, probably not 'TIG' gloves as such but about half as heavy, not sure.

They make a big difference if I need to move things about, especially as I've now got an auto mask and so have a hand 'free', but I've noticed the heat on my left hand is sometimes a bit much. To the point where I've had to whip the glove off as it's starting to burn the back of my hand.

I was thinking the other day of trying a heavy gauntlet on my left hand a lighter one on my right. Different colours though, one's black and the other's pale blue!

I tend to buy gloves in 5s or 10s and write L and R on them!

Yeh! I got a beltin pair of welding gloves. The only drawback is the string that holds the cuffs together is a bit short and restricts hand movements. lol...

you need elastic, one size fits all
Wandered a bit this one hasn't it , have a look here, the deerskin hamiltons are pretty good,

I used mrs jugs knicker elastic, but it fell down on the job.

any trade welding supplier, you can buy gauntlets for £1 a pair but for decent ones expect to pay £7 - £10
