Thats why I asked....Ive never seen a D17 coding......I havent seen many aircraft codings but those I have were UK spec (cant recall the numbers). All I remember is that they call the alloys by different names / numbers and some of them actually refer to a filler and not one I would have chosen for that material......they advise 347 for use on 304L for example..Only jobs we do around here are WPS to BS EN ISO 15614 and welder codings to BS EN ISO 9606.
The pipe welding companies have procedures to suit ASME IX though as well... I'm not hot on those
