Worth a try, think i have a spare around somewhereYou could try a surge protector plug on the router, it doesn’t take much to make modern electronics throw a fit and a voltage drop/spike could be enough.

That will just trip your RCD, bad idea. Welding bench should be floating with reference to mains neutral/earth.I will be grounding my bench though when i get a chance.
grounding the bench wont trip the rcd. the output for the welder is isolated from the mains supply through the transformer and they only work on current imbalance. still no point in grounding it though to the mainsThat will just trip your RCD, bad idea. Have you tried another power supply on the router, or measured its output to be within spec?
I could test this by using my fly-lead 16amp-13amp… will try that next chance i get.. trouble is will probably be next saturday nowMy house lights would flicker when I was welding when I had my Inverter Mig.
Now I've got the same welding power Transformer Mig - not a flicker.
I can only guess at Harmonic Distortion from the Inverter as to why.
But if you're using the same Mig, and it didn't used to be an issue, then you'd think it will be another cause.
Have you checked the connections for the welder supply plug and socket?
It might be something as simple as a poor connection - and it's always best to try to eliminate the simple stuff first.
Pull the back off the 16A plug on the welder itself and check that as well for good termination of the L+N+E first to make sure that is OK.I cou

I called sky anyway and had then down to do a line check. They found 2 faults to my surprise. So they sent openreach down. They put a new cable in and since then our internet download has gone from 5-10 mbs to 25-30mbs.. so hopefully… this may also be related to my welding issue and would have been fixed at the same time. You really need to be testing the phone line, I know you say you dont use it but any noise on the line indicates a poor connection that will be acting as an antenna for all the electrical noise you are making whilst welding. Borrow a corded phone, plug it in to the master socket and dial 17070 then option 2 'quiet line test' if you hear any noise at all, report a noisy line to your service provider. Don't mention internet dropouts, welding or anything else that will muddy the waters. Just a noisy line.
I'd escalate that to a 'was'.The fact the download speed went up after the line was replaced suggests line imbalance might be to blame.
