Need to preserve my regular boots from damage so looking for proper welding boots to keep in the workshop if anyone has any recommendation. I didn’t think there would be so many to choose from!
well from all the videos Ive seen on you tube ..a secret on welding thin steel that not many welders talk about'' you need wool gloves with holes ,,, just the glass out of a mask , and open toe sandals made by that french guy
Phillipe Floppe.
although I just keep an older pair of boots for welding in as long as they fit well and dont have gaps at the top like riggers they do fine ,,, sooner or later the soles get holes in them and leak , once they leak they go in the bin , nothing worse than wet feet at eight in the morning and a full day ahead in the same boots.

I have had these before lasted very well and as comfortable as any others , I’m using redback boots now not welding specific but they do the job
Any decent leather safety boot with a full length leather tongue is sufficient for most folks. I use Grisport Boulder boots that tick all the boxes for me. Some folk suggest rigger boots, you just have to remember not to tuck your trousers & overalls into them!
I have ordinary leather work boots for the odd weld or tack. If I'm welding for a longer period I dig out my Goliath Foundry Boots. Foundry boots aren't the most comfortable, but the level of protection is great.
