Ayup lads and lassies. Thought i'd resurrect this thread as i've been shopping. I found a copy of The Procedure Handbook of Arc Welding - Lincoln's very own manual of welding - sitting on a shelf at work, so I did a quick search on fleabay and found it up for sale, won it at £5.99 (Amazon, £70 ish).
It's a cracker. All types of electric arc welding, all materials, consumable types, joint preps, pre heat temps, conversions, history, procedure selection etc etc etc. Not at all useful for the car repairer, but if you're doing any sort of structural work or better, and want an idea that you're getting your engineering near right, this is the book.
