I have a broken M6 6mm Water pump bolt head on the front of my Merc engine got about 10mm of thread protruding so best advise so far is to weld a nut on the end allowing a few mm thread on top to get a good weld fillet / bond . Then hopefully the heat from the weld will help crack the corrosion seizing it in when the welded nut is turned so the question is :
as most nuts are either stainless or zinc plated is this a problem with the weld ????
Using a Sealey Supermig 150 with BOC argoshield Light and Standard Wire
Thanks
