Hello. I am about to MIG weld the frame in the attached photo. I have watched several YouTube demos of how to prevent distortion when welding 45deg miters but would appreciate any advice or tips from the forum please.
Is it advisable to clamp the whole frame and tack weld or is it best to weld in sections? For example weld two 'L' sections then weld those together to give the complete frame.
If it is advisable to tack weld the whole clamped frame then where are the best tack positions given that the lower outside corners are in contact with the clamps and the lower face 45deg butt welds are hidden by the clamps?
Thanks, Guy
