Regarding the 'welding' that is absolutely appalling.

That needs grinding right out and re welding, properly. But because of the size of the rubbish there, youll need to have a very wide cap/ or a few runs to fill it all back up.

That plate, looks about 8mm thick? Weld probably need be no wider than that.
The lines, put on by an inspector or similar? Its not a case of redoing them bits, if its all as bad, the whole lot needs redoing imo.

At least it gave someone a job and an extra £800 before chrismas The Bloke that took it was already employed Paye so is talking 2 weeks paid holidays during the time, so not a bad deal afterall if you want to make some money

OK, the welds do look poor (even to me, a VERY poor amateur

Jester I don't think people are being harsh at all, the guy asked for an opinion on something and that's exactly what he has got.

If the poster then goes on to ask why people have made the statements they have he will get more in depth information as to why we all think the welds are diabolically bad

You don't need to be a coded welder to inspect a weld, nor have an opinion on one. If that was on my boat I'd have trouble sleeping at night, wondering how far down it would have sunk by the morning.
