yes I saw that thanks - had a spark round and he wanted to know the power draw as I’m wanting a 16a connection put in my shed. I’ve been running it from a 13a socket with issue to date, however I’ve not had the settings up high.
I don't think that you can apply that formula to the output of the welder, I am fairly certain that it will be drastically different to the input as there will be losses in converting the input to the relative output, plus they will most likely be a large inrush current till it stabilises, and you may need a slow lag circuit breaker. You did say that the max current is 32A (which is from the input side) so using a 16A connector with the slow lag circuit breaker should do it. Having said that, I am not a sparky, but that sparky that you got in should have been able to work it out.
