hi every one im after a bit of help, ive just got a diesel twin cylinder 110v generator / welder, the welder should be 200amp. the engine is running great but im not getting any power from the 110 socket or the welder only a very faint spark when i go to strike the rod up, the gene is a markon but i have no idea what the model number is ect as the plate is missing of the side of it great help i know, ive heard people say flash it with 12volts but where would i put the the + & - of a car battery onto? it has 4 brushes running on 2 slip rings if thats what there called, theres a square black block about 1" square that i think is a rectifier 4 black wires pushed onto it and one capacitor, the wireing all looks to be ok, the machine has not been uesd for at lease 3 years, ive cleaned the burshers and the bits they run on but still not working, il get some pictures of it monday and pt up if any body think it might help. i would like to know where to put my 12 onto and if i should have the gene running or not, i have now ideas about field ect what people talk about so bear with me,
