Weld opinions

Hi all,

New to welding, got myself a Clarke 151TE and had a play, I've finally got some welds that I'm not too embarrased to show you to see what I can improve.

This is 3mm sheet onto 3mm angle with CO2.

Any tips or pointer on how I'm doing?

looking good, a little cold at the bottom, looks like you are moving more on to the upright part while welding, causing the toe to not fuse properly, but other than that nice

Thanks for that. I did try to keep it to the centre of the joint, perhaps I need a slight up and down movement.

If possible, I would increase your voltage a bit and angle your torch a smidge more. The weld does look a bit cold with slight lack of fusion on the toes. You could also help support your torch with the other hand (if you are not doing it already) by sliding your other hand on the metal to steady the torch, just be aware that it may get hot. A slight weaving motion may make your weld better as well.

Not looking too shabby, would recomend increasing your voltage a bit and try travelling a bit faster.
I would avoid getting into the habit of weaving on a fillet weld as this generally creates far more problems than it soves
