Or any lead acid for that matter.
My forklift battery is old but well looked after and low hours. Doesn't seem to last well between charges.
I have have checked every cell with a hydrometer and multimeter and they are fine. Fluid levels fine.
I suspect the intelligent charger is playing up but can't see how.
It has happened a few times now where you put the battery on charge for say 8 hours but it doesn't complete the cycle. Don't like leaving it unattended.
The charger is whacking out plenty of amps. Cells are bubbling away merrily.
Leads and charger ar warm so the current has to be going into the battery.
But then the battery reading on the forklift doesn't change
Still on only 25% charge. Battery doesn't last long. Let it finish its cycle. Perhaps another 2 hours, and it will be fine. If it was nicad or lithium ion I could understand it but not plain old lead acid.
I don't have another charger to check.
I wish it was just a simple old charger that whacks out a slow but steady current.
