Hi chaps.

I should have registered long ago, I have read many of your entries wth interest, as I have the rest of the site.

I am currently restoring a 1974 Aston Martin V8 with more rust than original metal.

My early Christmas present to myself was a Speedglas 2000X auto darkening welding helmet which i really wish i had invested in ealrlier and am dying to try out.

I look forward to posting some reports on how it goes.

Hi Nigel, welcome to the MIG welding forum.

(Nigel's rusty Aston lives on our farm. That brings the number of Aston Martins at the farm to around 3.2. Must be a significant percentage of the total Aston V8 production.) Progress on the restoration is being reported on http://www.aston-v8.co.uk/blog/

You must bring the auto helmet up here at some point - I'm dying to give it a try.
