Weekend project

Hi guys need some help I have 5m of 10mm steel box section and need a project to do over the weekend any suggestions?

Measure it and tell us the external dimensions of the section.

its 11mm has a 3mm wall thickness

Rareish size for box section is that, I would suggest for the project..go to the pub and save the metal for a 'real' job

edid : this is an unusual section not sure what the best use for it would be.

i have know idea what do do with it either, as for going to the pub its a good idea but being 17 makes it a bit difficult there must be some use for it tho?....

The way I see it, there will come a time when you need something exactly like that box section and it will be easier finding hens teeth then finding that size again, a shame to waste it on a 'think of a use' project

Only 17?...pubs must be tightening up these days, by that age I was known as a regular

You could make a shelf. I know, a bit dull - but you'll soon have it covered in "stuff".
The part that took the longest time (and made the most mess) was routing out the shape into the top (of the small one) for the steel to fit into.
With a bit of luck, a few more imaginative/interesting ideas will come up!

i like the shelf idea but then i have to find a place to put it. as for finding that size again a friend of mine has tons of it just sitting in a corner in his shed.

Since then I braced the frame for a go at the clunker and fitted a set of useless springer forks, also braced.

so on Saturday morning i went into town to check out the market ect. anyway saw someone selling work lights for £30 and then i had an idea went home and
started cutting some steel this is the finished product and the best part is i had everything lying around so it cost me nothing
