Way up North West Gas supplier

I have trailed all through the gas suppliers sticky but only got one near Workington North Cumbria, my Bro lives in Siloth 15 mile north of Workington and i am trying to help him out with gas, he is after co2 or Cougar 5 etc.

I found Slimjim on the list and i have PMed him

Inngas at Workington do the full range of welding gases.

Co2 was £12 a year bottle rent and £11 a refill
Argon/co2 full size is £50 a year rental and my last refill was £30ish I think.

When I called in a couple of years ago the lady said.. no we don't have anything called welding gas, then the Manager came in.. luckily and said we do, took me into the back and told me to take my pick from the full range of various sizes and gases.

My first purchase was co2 and the bottle was marked as owned by Inngas...hence what I remembered.

I now rent a full size argon/co2.

He called them today and got a price of £71 for the cylinder then £14 for the gas, he ddint ask the size, just for co2, if its industrial size the £71 isnt bad but if for 10l, a bit expensive. But he said he was happy to pay it aslong as the cylinder is his and not every year.

i did tell him to ask for all details so he is going to call back.

No idea what they are quoting for there, as it happens I got my monthly statement this morning, my large bottle is £4.28 a month rental, so works out about £1 a week...seems cheap enough to me.

I wonder if there is a deposit in the £71 charge, say perhaps £21 a year rental and £50 refundable deposit , would make sense if they have been losing bottles.

Rental at welding gases the bottle is on a refundable deposit so you can always get the money back. So really you just pay for the gas.
