watercooled tig torch

just bought a marshall dynabolt 300amp ac/dc tig welder with telwin water cooler.

did not come with a torch, can anyone reccommend a good water cooled tig torch to cope with 300amps. there are so many to choose from, i want something worth buying. (and where to get it from)
i have local welding suppliers but they will just sell u what they stock rather than the best torch.

remote control on the torch would be a bonus as i do a lot of roll cage welding, but also the capability to work with the foot control.

I splashed on a Weldcraft WP20.

I was looking for the lightest most flexable torch I could get. I briefed the welding shop on all my requirements and the Weldcraft was recommended. Money was exchanged and disappointment followed.

What I eneded up with is a torch that was more of a handfull than the air cooled one it replaced.

The problem was the cheap, nasty and stiff vinyl water and gas pipes. These have since been replaced with cotton covered rubber which has improved things, next will be a more flexable power/water cable.

I guess I'm saying if you want all the potential benifitts that a water cooled torch has to offer make sure you get the best most flexable cables/hose you can. If you go for a Weldcraft make sure you spec the correct cables (and pay the extra) and I dont think you will be disappointed.

300 amps is WP18 country rather than wp20.

wp20 is small and neat but only goes upto 250 amps and may need bigger tungstens for the same job than the wp18

Wp18 is bigger heavier more awkward but cooler on the tungstens
