It has been established that perpetual motion is unlikely to be established. But is there something close to it.
Imagine two levels in the garden, the lower level contains a garden pond (reservoir). The elevated level has a water flow path back down to the pond below it. The pond has a pump in it which is driven by a small 'water wheel' from the flowing water above. The pump in the pond below is to take the water back to the elevated level. In theory, is it possible that it would work?
