Water based paint

hi guys, i'm 17 and own a 93 VW Polo 'Breadvan' and am looking at spraying the side of my car and tailgate as they were dinted and scratched - The colour is metallic Indian red. I will be spraying it outside but in a gazebo.

I don't really want to be using 2K however I have read that if you use waterbased basecoat you still need to use a 2K lacquer, is this true? are there any types of paint that would be better suited for the job?

I don't really know much about painting using a gun so any help would be great

yes you still need a solvent based lacquer you could use single pack acrylic but its not as good as 2k, and you will be better off using a solvent based base coat

you could use 1k clear over solvent basecoat to keep it "safe" to use at home , but honestly its rubbish
