Waste collection services

I’ve nearly completed a bathroom refurb. Anyone know what can i expect to pay for someone (with a waste licence) to collect a bath, toilet, sink, pedestal and about 10 bags of tiles.
Ive contacted a couple of people who want to look at it first, just want an idea what to expect when i get the ‘we’ll take it for you now for so and so mate’ call!!

take it down the tip yourself even if it cost you a days work you will come better off

Or, if it's clean, list it on your local sites. There is often someone needing to fill a hole.

(Edit - assuming it's ceramic and not fiberglass!)

One last point -

The dumps down here have been forced to stop charging for some stuff they were charging for before. They have quotas now, but they reset pretty quickly.

What I mean is, if you can be bothered to move it yourself, check your local dump website as the rules here have changed, and it wasn't out of good will - they were forced to.

Bag it all up including the bath and bung the bin men fifty quid, its amazing what they can achieve when you cross their palms with a bit of folding.

one bloke near us got caught flogging wheelybins if they were half knacked he would chuck em in the wagon and get them a new one half price. needl;ess to say he got the sack musta got a bit greedy

Toilets, once placed in a bin and smacked with a hammer, don't take up much space as they are hollow. Similar with ceramic wash basins.

It is worth looking on your local council's website to see what kind of bulky waste service you have paid for with your council tax.

A lot of councils offer one bulky item per year, which would take care of the bath. See two examples below from your neck of the woods:

Generally France has a no tipping culture, other than leaving a bit of your change when you have a coffee. The main exception is Christmas when it’s traditional to be offered a calendar in return for a tip by the postie, firemen and bin men, I also give Bruno at the recycling centre a tip as he’s very helpful.

I buy biscuits for the chaps at the tip throughout the year. Generally toity ones too after a trip to the big island.

The council have collected big lots from us many years ago, I think the rules were only a coupe of collections a year, prices were fair (£20 ??) but a long time ago.

Take it to your local tip. I used to have 2 near me in opposite directions so would take a few bags to Tip-A in the morning then more to Tip-B in the afternoon.

Or drip-feed it into your bin (& your neighbours) but that takes a lot longer ... so I was told

Advertise the bath on freecycle / gumtree / freegle - you never know - our local farmers use them in the fields as water troughs.

i just bag it all up take some to flats and shops where i work and spread it around can easy dump 10 bags in 2 days
