Washing machine not spinning

Just replaced the drum bearings in the w/machine. And now the bloody thing won't spin, At first it took a few goes to make it spin at it's fastest 1200rpm. Then it would only spin at 1100, now it is refusing to do that.

Any suggestions. I hate throwing stuff out, that could be fixed

Just a wild guess but it may just be coincidence the brushes in the motor are at the end of their life and the work you have done has just tipped them over the edge.

Any of mine that have not spun, it always seems to the fault and is an easy fix.

Drum moving freely by hand and not binding?

I just binned off our washer drier for the same reason - to be fair I'd done the drum bearings a few years ago, it'd lasted 8 years of daily use. The drier was crap too (it made Fukushima look a bit lukewarm). Due to the plethora of chitty chitty bang bang noises it was making I agreed with the boss, and more money than I've spent on a car for a big chunk of my life changed hands to become a new machine.

Anyway, decided to rob the old machine for some useful bits (drain pump is going to become a coolant pump for my milling machine, the levelling feet have been chopped up and are becoming part of the milling machine bench), whipped the brushes out to find that they didn't extend much out of their 2" long housings - so I'd definitely start there.

Oddly, brush failure just didn't let the machine do anything, fill or even set any error codes.

I'll order some brushes then. It will keep it going long enough for us to decide what we want to replace it with and then find where it's the cheapest. Cheers

That happened with ours. It jigged up just about every operation with it. Nicked the motor from another machine and fitted the front housing from the old pump to that. Still working for the moment, a couple of years or so on, though the construction quality of those things is shockingly bad. The water we have around here doesn't help. Fighting a losing battle trying to keep it clear of scale buildup.

the reason for that is its worked through a presure switch .so if the drum doesnt empty of water because the pump is stuck or another reason the motor will not run up to full speed on spin cycle with water in the drum
