Warning sign on garage for CO2 cylinder?

Hi,

I suppose this is a daft question, but I assume by law I need to put a warning sign on my garage warning of compressed gas, just in case there was ever a fire?

its not a requirement on private premises and c o2 isnt flamable . if u do store compressed flamable gasses it still isnt a regulation but it would be beneficial to the fire service to know what they are up against

The HSE visited my business premises and they saw the CO2 bottle and air compressor and never mentioned it, although it's something I've been meaning to do.

You could also consider marking pipes with arrows showing the direction of flow and the colour code for their contents.

Download the sign print on A4 paper, laminate and bobs your uncle.
Unless you dont have access to a laminator in which case go buy a sign .

If you put such a sign on the door it might attract attention to the fact there are expensive tools inside.

Another point about signs - For example if you display a sign that says "Caution! Dangerous Dog" and the dog bites someone and they sue you can't deny it's dangerous because you erected a sign saying so.

Do signs have to be the correct colour to be legal?

Has the HSE done a risk assessment into the effects of stress suffered by people who have to do risk assessments?

IMHO

The moment you put a sign on your garage door, e.g. High Pressure Gas
all your neighbors will be complaining left, right & center.

Or, looking at it another way, are there any signs as you enter your local pub?
Mine has cylinders all over the place, including my next MIG refill.
