I've been busy making a wardrobe for myself. It's made from mirror polished 304L stainless steel (...apart from the castor wheels & filler);
I've used much the same principles as my TV stand, but, this time... I wanted to try some new things & do some of the original features of that last project a bit better. It was another big step, for me, into the world of stainless steel and metal working & I found it easier to split the project up into 5 phases; feet, uprights, shoe rack, rails & roof.
-----
Phase 1 (Sub feet that accept castors or rubber feet & the feet rails that accept them)
M10 nuts welded to washer...
These assemblies are then tack welded to 32mm o/d 18swg tube...
Seam welded in stages to prevent heat distortion...
Feet rails are cut (50mm o/d 18swg) and have their domes tacked on...
Seam welded in stages to prevent heat distortion...
Both assemblies have their welds ground down, with a 125mm flap disc, until flush...
Finished to 320 grit...
Jigging up & marking out 600mm rails (ready for notching to accept sub feet)...
