Wanted Engine for Old powerboat

On reflection a Landrover 2 1/4 would be a good if slightly anachronistic match; it's a heavy old lump, available for buttons 2nd hand, available as a MoD surplus reconditioned unit for a few more buttons, and it puts out ~75hp and a lot of torque at quite low revs.

What about a Fergie T20 tractor petrol engine, loads about and first produced at the end of the 1940's.

Righto folks i have scanned in some pics, & have one taken the day we actually hauled her out of the water back in 86, it gives a good idea of the shape of her long slim hull, Second pic taken a few days ago shows the replanked hull in her building shed. I was able to save about 20% of the original planking, Most of the rest, deck, stringers, engine beds is sound enough to use again.
Her steel frames will have to be replaced as below the waterline they were completely rusted away, they are 1" angle rolled leg in so a steep learning curve to make the 6 required, or i might get someone to roll them for me if i supply good patterns.
Out of interest i found a good website www.prewarcar.com and was surprised to see that there are still suitable engines around. Im thinking that a wanted add will be a good idea.
Also been in touch with some folks in the classic powerrboat world who are being extraordinally helpful. Its a very long shot but we might put a name to her yet. In the end though its not that important as she is what she is & that is a very rare survivor from the dawn of motorboating.

Some years down the line, time to finish the old girl!
