Wannabe arc welder

So still practicing arc welder,half hour a week,if I practice more than half hour I get frustrated,the day I can arcweld like staff monkey in his post ,il run to the moon and back,IV been watching utube but there's so many ways to arc welder ,dab welding, pushing rod back and forth, scrap u tube in just going to practice.so here are some welds IV done,I no not great, please get yourself a sick bucket.2.5 rods,I have tried at 80 amps and 75amps , please look at picks and give your professional opinion,80 amps seam to spread the weld more,

Don't bother with any weaving or whipping of the rod, just focus on a nice tight arc length and a consistent travel speed.

I was always taught to let the puddle grow between 1-1.5x the thickness of the flux coating on the rod and travel at a speed that maintains that width. Nice straight weld, no bobbing about or tanking the rod around, that can come later but first, just get the groundwork In

Nice shiney bit of 6mm plate - 6013 3.2mm rods @ 110amps - row on row next to each other.

Strike - weld - pool up finish - strike - weld - pool up finish.

Repeat - repeat - repeat - repeat - repeat - nice tight arc from day one of learning - concetrate on travel speed and rod angle - till you can do it.

They easier to handle - they don't burn down as quick. More weld to see what is going on. Few more amps making stricking easier.

What sort of welder you using...? DC invertor or AC buzzbox...?

.5hr a week your progress will be very slow. get a pile of rods and bump it to 10hr week
