Matching joins .. if you have two rolls on the go you'll not be wasting as much .When we built our extension (large) 20 years ago i had to take a lot of plaster off walls that we were keeping or joining to. Plus their were ceilings to come down. I found multiple levels of ancient bilious green distemper, nappy brown 70's acid trip wallpaper, artex analglypta & emulsion paint, some of it had been covered over with plasterboard & some not.
I used a sharp narrow spade to get it all off & down & it took days & days living in a powered respirator.
Once it was all plastered it got painted with vinyl matt emulsion& that was that. Lifes to short to hang wallpaper, dont forget that you will throw a large percentage away matching joins.
