Wall storage ideas

Hi - I should stop buying and making stuff but I cant. I have run out of floor space so need wall cabinets.

Any ideas. Must be metal. Tool specific cupboards cost a fortune.

What does everyone use?

old kitchen cabinets - when i had the van, i could have had at least one complete kitchen every week, for the taking.
theyre pretty much always available on freecycle/gumtree freebies/1p BIN on the bay

nowadays, i fasten shelf brackets to the wall and use scaff boards as shelves.
if i want a "cupboard" i make an overlay frame with some 3x1, inset another frame of 3x1 with 3mm ply on one side, and connect with hinges.

your far better off making your own up in the required size that you need

for doorway u still prefer to use a wood door than a metal one but even sliding doorways are just as good if you plan them right

for me i built a shelf in 2mm box section to create a shelf above head height just to store up there

My sister bought me a couple of these for Christmas picked them up cheap of flebay they are real handy for keeping small item, drill bits lathe bits in, they are metal

I've been keeping an eye out for a Bisley 5-drawer one [I have one already]. They seem to command fair prices, some not too far shy of new price [and are a long way away ].

thats the ones I think she paid 50 for the two and not to far from home I will keep an eye out down here and let you know if i see any

Ikea have a range of metal cabinets that might be worth looking at.

These wall cupboards from Clark are very good, I have one next to the lathe and it takes the weight of all the tooling very well.

Dont know whether they have changed them but mine has three doors

I would add peg boards on the doors too, doubbles the tool capacity.

You would probably have to beef up the hinges but its a worthwhile mod, the doors would take the weight.
