I’m gonna probably sound like a broken record and most if not all forum folk will take the **** cause I’m being serioys
but
sod the ****** size of the fan to seek approval on in the first instance
ypu need to start with type of dust, how you create it, what process is involved, where it happens etc etc etc etc.this will result in some quite important information that will determine your face and capture velocity required. Which will then tell you the size of fan required subject to ducting run required etc etc etc etc rt
clearly It seems that you are wanting to do this for the right reasons cause you want to safe guard your health
Two options are available
folk likle me that ask difficult questions to help you arrive at the correct solution
or folk that say you need a fan of xxxxxxx size with out understanding how you generate the hazard

you can tell the OP about your home made situation ...
ps. I don’t see the funny side of things when dealing with health. After years of seeing “experts” feckino things up im now suffering from a sense of humour by pass
And that's why as @Parm and @Brad93 and you have identified, you can't have a one size fits all solution to the problem. Extraction needs to start with looking at the problem and then designing a solution around it.Anyway...despite this, none of my equipment, particularly the hand tools like circular saws are capable of capturing everything.
I bought one of those ceiling mounted room filters which captures a huge amount of the airborne stuff but even with them both combined I still have to wear a mask alot of the time.
Point is, in a workshop where different things are being done everyday especially by hand (rather than big purpose built machines doing the same thing day in day out) that even the best extraction system can only do so much.
So having fitted a 16” wall mount in my big shed,I’d like one for the stone workshop, about 10”,noticed they’re only about 80watt,I have a couple of spare inline ones that are smaller diameter, yet more power, would it be suitable for wall mount?
