Please tell me you're not binning good morse taper drills?!...aka sorting out.
Spent well over a shift sorting out in the mancave today, the end result of which is the van crammed to the roof with all manner of tat that's destined for the tip tomorrow, and it still looks no better. 4 rear light units that I bought 15 years ago for a trailer project that never happened, numerous lengths of rsj and railway line that I brought home because I thought "I can do something with that" but never did, 3 dozen ratchets (now completely seized solid...) and straps that I was given by a grateful customer well over 10 years ago, and so on. Half a dozen 2lb lump hammers have appeared along with 4 pistol drills, 3 orbital Sanders, 3 heat guns, more adjustable spanners than you could shake a stick at, enough twist drills to fill a wheelbarrow, and half as many morse taper shank drills which are neither use nor ornament to me.
It really grates on me that I've spent so much of my life collecting junk which I've then spent years tripping over to the point where I now have to spend even more time getting rid of it just so I can move safely around the mancave. I appreciate that getting rid of junk is against the ethos of the forum but I actually feel quite embarrassed when I look at the vast amount of "stuff" I've acquired that I have absolutely no use for.
Most of us don't have room to build another shed/get another container as the junk piles up.I don't understand what you lot are on about
Bob
You need a transition/ limbo shed! Have the doors open towards the alley so you can post a free to good home sign.Every time I’ve thrown something out, no less than two weeks later I find myself having to go out and buy said throwaway item! So I decided to make a promise to myself I won’t tip anything that could be even remotely useful irrespective of time scale!
I now have no space to put new rubbish...
OrPlease tell me you're not binning good morse taper drills?!
Well yes... But I have all the other stuff already in my workshopOr

Amazed not to see any of it offered up on here.
Have I missed some pics?...aka sorting out.

Exactly this. And in truth the stuff that's going was highly unlikely to ever be used anyway....The stuff I’ve given away or binned I haven’t missed.
Not by you but plenty of forum members would love the chance to make good use of it, I'm sure.Exactly this. And in truth the stuff that's going was highly unlikely to ever be used anyway....
The manroom in the house is getting the same treatment as well. So far I've cleared out wage slips and P60's going back to 1995, MOT certs from the same era, 15 years' worth of out of date inspection certs for my diving cylinders, 4 dead mobile phones, and so on yet again.
By the time I start the new job next Monday my life should be devoid of superfluous junk and it will be a pleasure to be able to get on with productive work as opposed to getting wound up by having no clear bench space or not being able to find what I want under a pile of rammel!

I have everyone since 1981 and bank statements till they went digitalI'm still loathe to bin my wage slips dating back to 1983...
I have no doubt they would so I can see why folk would see it as a waste to skip the stuff. Not by you but plenty of forum members would love the chance to make good use of it, I'm sure.
We have a similar collection of junk for the same reason. But, that said, there are days like today when a five year old, at least, scrap pile comes in handy.
