Maybe 15 years old for a guess, 1.9 diesel. How old is it?
The VED rate on my 09 Jeep GC is currently £700 per yearMate of mine owns a VW van, forget the model, but he reckons the new VED rates are going through the roof in April, over £700 a year he reckons.
V5 will state M1 or N1. Not easy to get changed.@akdaka thanks for the info, the VED wasn't a huge concern but useful to know
On the other hand, knowing it's classification is something I have struggled to find further information on. I'd like it to be classed as a 'car' rather than a 'van'. Don't mind if the VED is higher if that's compensated by being able to be driven at the speed limit for cars as opposed to vans
My 2012 Diseasel Mondeo 1.6 is £35 a year.My van as meentioned earlier is 2010. That year the government were pushing diesels (!) so had reduced rates that have carried on so up to recently was paying £140 a year and £150 last year.
Im hoping its not going up too much!
I believe a T32 4 motion has very high road tax.
Wrong i'm afraid. My T5.1 is a kombi and is as Greeves said above N1, so a 'van'. Its to do with weigh that can be carried and the percentage of load space to passenger space. Saying that a Transporter registered as a motorhome is M1.Some further Internet searching suggests if its a Kombi with the 2nd row of seats and side windows it would be the higher speed limits apply, more reading needed I think
I believe the new rules are the van has to have a fixed high top not a pop up top which really limits how many vans qualifyI believe the DVLA rules have changed regarding the Motor Caravan requirements meaning a lot of home conversions cannot now be registered.
A T32 will not qualify as dual purpose so the lower speed limits. I looked into this when I had one, but it would not put me off buying another, its a van not a hot hatch.
Really?? Can we fact check that? They'll be hundreds of small businesses put out of business if that's the case.I believe the new rules are the van has to have a fixed high top not a pop up top which really limits how many vans qualify
The speed limit has got nothing to do with the DVLA - it comes from legislation. The law specifies blanket speed limits and then gives a list of vehicle classes where a lower limit applies. It doesn't include 'motorcaravans' in the classes of vehicles subject to lower [than car] speed limits. (Anything with an unladen weight of more than 3.05 tonnes is included, however.)I believe the DVLA rules have changed regarding the Motor Caravan requirements meaning a lot of home conversions cannot now be registered.

Is that the om642 engine?
