What's the v8 weigh ?? As thought about that for mine as space isint an issue and have an ao box sitting here but thought it may be to heavyi'm currently fitting rover v8 into my camper ! well when i say currently , ive a bug to finish for the girlfriend , a pop to redo all the front suspension on ,a kuble wagon replica with a chevy 305 in , plus gfs car to mot , and mates t4 to put new injection pump on and other mates t5 to try and sort out why it keeps going into temp limp when throttle is open for a few minutes !! then the camper van !
Actually scratch that (not the fact that I like it!) I don't think wizard made a pick up conversion! It was the wizard van I disliked!
Since commenting yesterday a quick shufty through google images shows some nice beetle pick up conversions, both classic beetle and the new water cooled variety
Damn you! That cost me a couple of hours
Edit to add (hope this works)
Edit no 2
And this one! There is a link within this link to his build thread

Food for thought!!
weight is close to the aircooled motor , wee bit heavier but just ads to the lowering effect !What's the v8 weigh ?? As thought about that for mine as space isint an issue and have an ao box sitting here but thought it may be to heavy
Sounds like you have your work cutout then just putting a new lump in the wife's bug as it snapped the bearing arm So dropping a sp 1300 in there plus theres a couple of bits need welding up so may aswell get them while I can sit in the engine bay
That's food for thought would like a rumbling v8 would prefer a nice essex v6 on carbs with cherry bombs (used to do bangers and love the sound) but the weight I think is the killerweight is close to the aircooled motor , wee bit heavier but just ads to the lowering effect !
Mmmm yeah I think it would be to back end heavy as the rear bed is going to be heavier than what I've cut off won't know how much till I get on the weigh bridgev6 is very heavy , thats what we have in the pop , mate had a bay with v6 in , went well but at "higher " speeds the steering got ,shall we say interesting !
