I have a 1997 S class 3.2L. I bought the car about 5 years back and I am currently restoring it.
It has 110k miles or so on it. And from what I can tell it has had this LPG kit on it from it was a few years old so quite a long time. And it's still working OK or at least it was until I parked the car up and took it apart but fingers crossed it still works.
The car had an infamous for m104 engine head gasket oil leak. So replaced that and had my trusted machine shop check the head. It needed skimmed but otherwise perfect valves just needed a clean up and lap no cutting so the LPG didn't do it any harm over 100k miles
The above photos where when it had been cleaned up.
The bores still had the factory cross hatching too! This is typical of MBs of this era though they were insanely well built engines.
