Be doing away with them...will be replacing the rims possibly or getting these refurbished. Will get all new nuts ..

I was lucky when our XK8 locking nut went missing, was able to hammer in a spline and wind it out.

Did think of this..at the time I didn't want to trash a socket..but the closest thing I had ..

Did you use a stick welder or mig welder on the inside of the box section? Just curious to know if there's enough of space to weld with a mig welder in there?

The box section is a good idea.. I seared the paint on mine when I removed them, but I wasn't bothered as they were my own alloys

MIG turned well up you could use round tube but I had nine to hand

We have been live since Friday afternoon, it worked Saturday, contingency testing Monday and Tuesday. Friday it was loading the incorrect vehicles from the reg and last 6 on chassis .

I spent 4 hrs on friday, on the phone to them !! to try and get a new card working that I didnt need on monday !!

The whole set up is a joke
The new interface is good they have removed most of the crap
But to be down for 2 days is just not on
I have 12 tests to log off in the morning (if it is working)

that is what I meant from what I have seen john can weld with his eyes closed, doesnt need to see, just welding by ear.

I went to pick up a retest class 7 yesterday and it was about 2 1/2 hrs to get the paper work coz he hadnt got the contingency code, luckily the system came on line for a few mins for me to get the paper. Today he was on phone to my missus asking the crack for the contingency, malarky coz he had a load waiting. and couldnt get through to the ministry !!
I think THEY have Given up and switched the phones off.
Because the siemens stuff is still workin in certain areas why didnt they use that as back up?

Yep, but he is not very shall we say computer savvy. He could not get to talk to anyone in ministry, they are not answering, so rang my missus !!
obviously not read amendments. eyes closed and trust in the ministry !!! HA
