Vivaro mk 2 towbar

Hi all, does anyone have a Vivaro mk 2 with a towbar? I talked to a supplier the other day and they say that the cheaper ones they do might set of reversing sensors (when not towing), when you're just reversing into a parking space etc. They said to avoid that I'd need to get the dealer swan neck type, which are £500 rather than £300. Does this tally with people's experiences?

Yes.
You can deactivate the parking sensors or relocate them.

I'd fit a reverse camera with some of the £200 you save then you can use that for hooking up the trailer as well.

Or wait until someone can confirm they have an aftermarket tow bar that is OK with the sensors and get one identical to that.

Don't know if this is any help at all, but I had a Tow Trust towbar on my older Trafic (same as Vivaro) and most of it was under the bumper. I bought it on recommendation from a mate that had one.

Mine did NOT have reversing sensors, but his did, and it did not affect them. I always take the towball off when not using it as it saves your shins.

i was inquiring about a towbar for my pug van they said if it has censors it might set them off if a trailer wasnt even fitted and just put a gallon can behind the bumper where the hitchgoes and stick it in reverse to see. if it dont set them off it will be ok
