Visit to Eyemouth

Had business to attend visiting boatyard in Eyemouth today, tide was on the turn when I arrived, near to full and, very very rough as I was leaving!!

Taken at this angle, cliff face pic, does have a facial similarity you think?

Last pic: sea with help of a very strong NE wind pushing waves onto sea wall, such is the pressure with backwash, waves are forced back out to sea, where it hits another incoming wave, energy is forced up, hence the water plume, was impressive to view.

Isn't our geology interesting, I've attached a couple more, pic one I took a few year back, actually just north of Eyemouth, cliff walk outside St, Abbs. Pic two, although not too clear, is seaboard side of Ras Muhammed National Park, Sinai Egypt. From correct angle, rock strata makes cliff face show an image of the prophet Muhammed. And when driving into the old town of Sharm-El-Sheik, there is uncanny rock strata likeness of JF Kennedy!

Eyemouth, St Abbs, Sharm-el-Sheik and Ras Muhammed: is there an underwater theme here? Me and my ex lived just north of Oban for 5 years and served our "underwater time" in and around (under?) the Sound of Mull and Ardmucknish Bay. Many memories of happy hours on the Breda, Thesis and Hispania, to name a few. And not forgetting the incredible wrecks in Scapa. The memories of dropping onto the Kronpriz Wilhelm, 25,000 tons of battleship that fired its' guns at Jutland ,will stay with me forever

While visiting this company, they had a RLNI lifeboat in one of their sheds for a full refurb, and I mean total, everything out and, outer shell fully blasted all round.

Anyways, top structure is marine grade alloy, hull & deck carbon, top structure is welded to deck with material that is steel outer and, alloy inner, basically a laminate of two materials, I did ask what this stuff was called (should have wrote it doon) keel something comes to mind, anyone here have a clue?

Attached pics you can see red colour upstand, which is carbon, if you look close you can see the alloy welding.............

There is a transition joint called Triplate for joining steel to aluminium, a rep from aalco gave me a sample, I used it as a paperweight!, never used one myself but a bit of info about it here.
