And another old relic is now up for sale...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mig-Mate...a5e6782:g:leoAAOSwaXVeyW28&LH_ItemCondition=4
Ok been messing and found two diodes have gone but in my haste I can’t remember where this guy lives
Thanks seadog for the reply - Iam still learning - upload pic to make sure it’s rightBetween the positive and negative terminals at the output of the rectifier.

Ok thanks a11r , so I take it the red spot means positive ? And it won’t reach the inductor so would it go on the earth lead instead bud ? Thanks forAs it goes over the rectifier DC output, one plate or tag will feed the torch (+ve), the other (-ve) will go to via the inductor to the earth lead.
Help lol , I have nice condition one of these faulty , blows 13amp fuse after a 2second run .
so when I first got it the motor wouldn’t run at all nothing and would blow fuse after 2 seconds .
Noticed the range switch was stuck in and swapped that for a good one - still no joy
so checked the board and found transformer was dead - replaced with another and worked for about 5 seconds and think has took the regulator out now as it just runs on n on ,
Enjoying doing this buddy - it’s my down time and mancave time lol , loads to learn but enjoying reading posts but always in a bloody rush lol and forget things like this doh - good site this is and very helpful chaps like yourself so I do appreciate any help and advice , thanks again - will sort it tomoz nowIt's totally f****d mate, so you'd best get shot of it. I'll pay you a tenner, if you can do free delivery?
Only joking. Get on fixing it
Yeah I know bud - found that out last time on one , this was cheap and local so couldn’t turn it down and I like to get em going .Just for information. Selling on the older superior SIPs like these, for decent money, I've found isn't too rewarding.
They can make less than the the later, inferior silver models.
Yeah very true bud - still nice to tinker , you can tell performance drops off way before the cut out works anyway .I think that I used the one present (on the re-purposed Clarke rectifier) just because it was quite handy and easy to do.
In practice it may not be required. These machines are used primarily for thin panels, equating to car bodywork, where the duty cycle is eased by all the fabrication and fettling needed.
